Lake Taupo Yacht Club is a family yacht club on Lake Taupo, providing a racing and cruising programme, introducing young people to sailing, and training them to love and excel at the sport.   Our local season more or less corresponds with Daylight Saving over the warmer months but a Winter sailing programme is also held for larger boats.

We have a great clubhouse on the Lake with fantastic views and a boatshed a few metres away.    The boat shed houses our fleet and members' centreboard boats.   Applications for space in the Club's storage bunker may be accessed here . 

In addition, we have our Club launch P6 moored in the Harbour nearby and trailer sailors have access to secure pens in the Nukuhau launching area.

The club currently has approximately 200 family members with about 35 dinghies and 15 trailer sailors turning out to sail on a full club day.   We regularly host large regattas with competitors from many places.

Like many clubs, we are a voluntary organisation run by generous people who willingly donate their time and effort.

We have some exciting  events  coming up and as usual we also have a full programme of local racing.   This year LTYC will host a number of specialist regattas.   Feel free to pop along to the clubrooms on a Wednesday evening to meet fellow sailors or watch the proceedings from our observation decks.

The clubrooms are also a spectacular  venue  to hire for conferences, weddings and parties.

Lake Taupo Yacht Club Incorporated is New Zealand owned and registered under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908.
