Commodore Update Spring ‘23

A HUGE thanks to all of you who attended the preseason working bee. We managed to get a lot of the to do list ticked off. The bunker had a detox, the air conditioning units were mounted on the new brackets, Mike Knox made the new deck mounting and fitted it for us, Joanna gave the tower a HUGE clean out, and a whole lot more. A big thanks to all concerned.

Phill Latham has taken the role of Vice Commodore and has taken care of a lot of the daily running of the club. He enlisted Mike Knox again to repair the trailer for P4 (Contact) so that it was safe to use. Thank you Phill. P4 has had the steering replaced and funding for the replacement of the pontoons and trailer is underway.

P6 has had a service and maintenance issues addressed a is back in service for another year. Phill has had the RHIB's serviced.

We have the Bayleys November Regatta this coming weekend with a large number of out of town competitor's  attending. A massive thanks goes to Phill Clarke, Matt and Nick for the organizing of this Regatta. My thanks also go to all of those of you who are giving your time to make this event a success.

Our new website is up and running. The feedback which I have received has been  very positive.  The number of hours spent by our team to get this right has been phenomenal. Please feed back your compliments to the team.

Another HUGE thanks to all of the members who attended the RHIB Drivers Course. Please grab the chance to take the controls at any time to hone your skills and become more confident while there are known operators onboard. Without the addition of new crews we are hamstrung when we add more boats to the courses and run regattas. WE NEED YOUR BUM IN A BOAT MUMS AND DADS. Without your assistance we are nothing.

See you all in the club or on the water this weekend

Scotty
